A Little About Me

Hello! I’m DonnaMarie, a mixed media artist based on the beautiful Central Coast of California.

Art has been an integral part of my life for as long as I can remember. My creative journey began in the early 1980s, shortly after my children were born, when I turned to arts and crafts as a joyful and therapeutic outlet.

Over time, my interests expanded into woodworking and tole painting, and I discovered a true passion for exploring a wide variety of artistic forms.

Before long, my creative pursuits blossomed into a home-based business. I began showcasing and selling my work at local festivals along the Central Coast, a journey that spanned decades and brought immense fulfillment.

Then, as life tends to do, things shifted. I found myself creating less and eventually stopped altogether. My artistic spark had dimmed, until something extraordinary reignited it.

Years later, I was introduced to polymer clay, and it completely transformed my artistic path. I became deeply fascinated by this versatile medium and dove headfirst into learning its intricacies, particularly the art of complex caning techniques. The level of detail and creativity it allowed instantly captivated me and soon, I was even dreaming of clay!

Driven by a renewed sense of purpose, I sought out workshops led by artists I admired. Over a decade later, I’m still an eager student, regularly attending classes and continuously expanding my skills. Polymer clay has opened a beautiful, inspiring new chapter in my life.

Today, my husband Rick (now happily retired) and I enjoy traveling to art shows and festivals together. We genuinely love connecting with people and meeting our customers face-to-face. In our free time, we’re passionate about live music and attend concerts whenever we can.

I’ve even taken up learning to play the guitar, because I truly believe it’s never too late to explore something new, even if it takes a bit longer to remember the chords!

Most days, you’ll find me at home, relishing life’s quiet, meaningful moments. My family is my grounding force, and their love and support continue to inspire my creativity.
